March of Dimes advocates for women, infants, children and families across a wide range of issues at the federal and state levels. Broadly, our advocacy priorities fall into four major categories:
- Access to care: health insurance, Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program, quality improvement, health information technology, and more
- Research and surveillance: maternal and child health research, medical research issues, newborn screening, birth defects surveillance, and more
- Prevention and education: prematurity prevention, tobacco prevention, immunizations, substance abuse, folic acid promotion, environmental health, and more
- Tax-exempt organization issues: tax treatment of charitable contributions, postal rates, pension issues, non-profit organizations’ activities, and more
